Middle school students in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights district are encouraged to apply for HMSS, where they’ll explore creativity through writing, producing, directing, and starring in short films!

Lights, Camera, Action: Ignite Your Child’s Creative Potential in Filmmaking

HMSS is where dreams take center stage and come to life on the big screen. This is your child’s chance to experience every aspect of filmmaking—hands-on! From writing and directing to acting and producing, they’ll get a complete behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to create a film, all while discovering their own creative potential. Let them step into the spotlight and bring their vision to life!

2025 CAMP TIMELINE

Heights Middle School Shorts is offering two exciting film camp sessions for middle schoolers in 2025! Camp 1 (Feb-June) lets students create their own short film, while Camp 2 (June) focuses on producing a documentary. Applications open February 1 – click to learn more!
